Ardmore whisky

Ardmore is a Highland distillery in Kennethmont, Aberdeenshire, founded in 1898 by Adam Teacher. Unusually for an eastern Highland distillery, Ardmore traditionally kilns its barley with local peat, producing a dry, aromatic woodsmoke profile distinct from west coast and island malts.

The core distillery bottling is Ardmore Legacy, a non-age-statement single malt balancing light peat smoke with creamy vanilla and sweet honey. Specialist independent bottlers also release single casks with higher age statements, often demonstrating the rich, savoury depths of Ardmore’s spirit.

Yes. Ardmore is one of the few mainland Highland distilleries that consistently produces peated single malt. The barley is smoked using mainland peat from St Fergus, which imparts a dry, earthy, and aromatic woodsmoke character rather than maritime iodine.
What is the relationship between Ardmore and Teacher's blended Scotch?
Ardmore was built in 1898 specifically to supply the peated malt component for Teacher’s Highland Cream. It continues to serve as the signature fingerprint single malt in the Teacher’s blend.
