Where is Paul John single malt whisky produced?
Paul John single malt is distilled and matured in the coastal state of Goa in western India. The distillery uses traditional copper pot stills and draws pure water from local Goan water tables.
How does tropical maturation affect Paul John whisky?
Goa’s warm temperatures and high humidity accelerate the interaction between spirit and oak wood in the warehouse. This tropical ageing causes an annual evaporation rate of around 8% to 10% (the angels’ share), producing rich, mature flavours in fewer years than temperate Scottish maturation.
