Glengoyne whisky

Glengoyne is an unpeated Highland single malt made just north of Glasgow by Ian Macleod Distillers, known for sherry-cask maturation. This page lists the Glengoyne bottles in stock at the UK retailers we check with the lowest current price, including the 10 Year Old, White Oak, the 15 and 21 Year Old and the 24 Year Old White Oak, plus independent bottlings.

Unpeated malt, slow distillation and sherry casks are the house style, and Glengoyne has never coloured its whisky. The White Oak range, launched in 2024, uses first-fill bourbon and virgin oak instead. Prices for the same bottle vary between shops and can sit below the distillery’s own shop.

The distillery was licensed in 1833 as Burnfoot, renamed Glenguin in 1876 and Glengoyne from 1905; Whiskipedia’s Glengoyne page has more. Prices are the best current in-stock offer from the UK retailers we check (how we compare prices).

The cheapest Glengoyne whisky is Glengoyne 10 Year Old (10 years old, 40% ABV, 70cl), at £42.95 from Master of Malt. That is £47.90 delivered to the UK mainland for one bottle. Next cheapest: Glengoyne White Oak (£45.75) and Glengoyne 12 Year Old Time Keeper Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl (£61.00).
How much does Glengoyne whisky cost?
Glengoyne whisky costs from £42.95 to £3,499.95, with a median of £119.95 for a full-size bottle. The dearest is Glengoyne The Russell Family Single Cask #1549 1984 36 year old Whisky.
What is the oldest Glengoyne whisky you can buy?
Is Glengoyne a Highland or Speyside whisky?
Highland. Glengoyne is just north of Glasgow, far from Speyside, and its whisky is distilled in the Highland region as defined by the Scotch Whisky Regulations 2009. The distillery sits right at the Highland boundary. Whiskipedia notes that its newer warehouses across the road are technically in the Lowlands; see its Glengoyne page.
Is Glengoyne peated?
No. Glengoyne makes its single malt from unpeated malt, and the distillery is known for slow distillation and for maturing much of its spirit in sherry casks sourced through long-standing links with bodegas in Jerez. The White Oak range launched in 2024 uses first-fill bourbon and virgin oak instead. See unpeated whisky.
