Torabhaig whisky

Torabhaig is a young distillery on the Sleat peninsula of the Isle of Skye, making peated single malt. First distilled in 2017 and first released in 2021, its bottlings are young and carry no age statement. This page lists every Torabhaig at the UK retailers we check, with the lowest current price.

Taigh is the first core release; the Legacy Series bottlings (Allt Gleann, Cnoc na Mòine, Sound of Sleat) are numbered early releases, some also at Batch Strength. Peat is the house style: the peated tag here is derived from the distillery rather than stated on each label, and the producer describes Taigh as gently peated.

Skye is legally part of the Highland region, and Talisker is the island’s other distillery. For the farmstead’s history and visits, see the distillery’s own site. Prices are the best current in-stock offer from the UK retailers we check (how we compare prices).

Questions

What is the cheapest Torabhaig whisky?
The cheapest Torabhaig whisky is Torabhaig Taigh (46% ABV, 70cl), at £42.63 from Master of Malt. That is £47.58 delivered to the UK mainland for one bottle. Next cheapest: Torabhaig Sound of Sleat Legacy Series Chapter 4 (£56.60) and Torabhaig The Legacy Series No.3 Cnoc Na Moine (£56.60).
How much does Torabhaig whisky cost?
Torabhaig whisky costs from £42.63 to £249.95, with a median of £73.95 for a full-size bottle. The dearest is Torabhaig The Legacy Series #1 - The Inaugural Release Singl 2017 3 year old Whisky.
What is the oldest Torabhaig whisky you can buy?
Is Torabhaig whisky peaty?
Yes. Torabhaig makes peated spirit, so every bottling is smoky to some degree, though the distillery describes its core release Taigh as gently peated, and cask choice, first-fill and refill bourbon with some Madeira, softens the smoke.
What is the difference between Torabhaig Taigh and the Legacy Series?
Taigh, Gaelic for house, is the distillery’s first core release, bottled at 46% ABV from whisky matured in first-fill bourbon, refill bourbon and Madeira casks, without chill filtration or added colouring. The Legacy Series bottlings are the earlier numbered releases, such as No.3 Cnoc na Mòine and Chapter 4 Sound of Sleat, also at 46%. Batch Strength versions of Allt Gleann and Sound of Sleat are bottled at about 60 to 61% ABV.
