Whisky under £30

Whisky under £30 means the lowest in-stock shelf price at the UK retailers we check was below that threshold at the last refresh, before delivery. The list changes as prices and stock change. It includes 50cl to 1L bottles, so check the size before comparing.

The band covers blends, bourbon, Irish whiskey and some single malts. We do not check supermarkets or discounters, so their own-label bottles and promotions are absent. Narrow the list to single malt or blended whisky, or read how we compare prices. Every offer shows its retailer, check time and delivery status.

Questions

What is the cheapest whisky priced under £30?
The cheapest whisky priced under £30 is High Commissioner Blended Whisky (70cl), at £17.50 from Master of Malt. That is £22.45 delivered to the UK mainland for one bottle. Next cheapest: Bell’s Original Blended Scotch Whisky (£18.99) and Jim Beam (£19.50).
What is the oldest whisky priced under £30 you can buy?
Tamnavulin 33 Year Old The Stillman’s Dram, at 33 years old, from £28.50.
Why is blended whisky cheaper to make than single malt?
Blended Scotch is mostly grain whisky, made from wheat or maize in continuous column stills that run around the clock and yield far more spirit than batch pot stills. With no age statement, the grain and malt in a blend need only meet the legal minimum of three years in cask, and a blend can be made from whichever malts are available, so no single distillery’s stock limits it. Famous Grouse, Johnnie Walker Red Label and Bell’s are examples. See blended whisky.
Does minimum unit pricing affect whisky under £30 in the UK?
Yes. In Scotland and Wales, Minimum Unit Pricing (MUP) mandates a statutory legal floor price for alcoholic drinks. Both now set 65p per unit (Wales raised its rate from 50p on 1 October 2026), so a standard 70cl bottle of 40% ABV spirit must retail for at least £18.20. In England and Northern Ireland, spirits are subject only to alcohol duty and standard VAT without mandatory price floors.
