The Whiskey Oban is a special single malt Scotch whiskey that combines the rich, complex flavors of the Highlands with the maritime and peaty nuances of the island whiskeys. The taste of autumn fruits and salty sea air is ideal balanced and could develop extensively during the ripening period of fourteen. The excellent combination of slightly sweet, smoky dryness and subtle spice, owes a special distillation and maturation process. The little lantern-shaped copper vessel in which distillation takes place, among the smallest stills in Scotland. In addition, the condensation of the malt takes place in wooden cooling water baths on the roof of the distillery. During the slow process, not just the wooden container of sea air exposed, but also the malt itself. Thus, the whiskey acquires its characteristic maritime touch that complements the caramel flavor. For maturation, it is first filled in Bourbon barrels and then aged according to Montilla Fino sherry barrels.
