Bain’s Cape Mountain is the first single grain whiskey from South Africa. The name Bain’s going to Andrew Geddes Bain, the architect of the Bain’s Kloof pass in South Africa. The Bains Kloof Pass begins literally at the feet of James Sedgwick Distillery in the north of the town of Paarl. The Bain’s Cape Mountain Single Grain is a comparatively mild whiskey that initially spent three whole years for former ex-Bourbon barrels and continues its finish in first fill ex-Bourbon barrels for another 18-30 months. Duch, the finish on first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels reached Bains Cape Mountain Whiskey pleasant fruity aromas of ripe banana, honey and toffee. On the palate, the gourmet vanilla, cocoa butter and spicy oak notes reveal.
