The Clynelish 14 Years is a typical representative of Northern Higlands. By the Sea salty maritime notes fall on that combine with sweet, floral aromas. The Clynelish 14 Years is part of the Classic Malts series of Diageo. An excellent aperitif – whiskey. Typically Scottish whiskey in the Speyside and Islay are fired. But there are other areas where excellent whiskeys are produced. This includes the Clynelish distillery in Brora, in the northeast of Scotland. For using the malt from the malt house in Glen Ord and the water from the nearby Clynemilton Burn. For about 14 years matures the distillate in selected casks and can thus develop its incomparable flavor. This comes along with an aroma of roasted malt, smoke and a fruity sweetness. The palate reveals itself very maritime. Nuances of seaweed, mustard and a slightly salty aftertaste reminiscent of the area from which it originates. Aftertaste is dry, slightly bitter and is accompanied by a hint of oak. The single malt tastes great after a long day, but also as an aperitif.
