The Glenallachie Distillery was sold end of 2017 from the consortium of Pernod Ricard. Until then, Regal was produced in the distillery to 100% for Chivas. On 12 July 2017 it was announced that the new Glenallachie The Consortium of Billy Walker, Graham Stevenson and Trisha Savage is made and the distillery will acquire by the end of 2017 at an unknown price. In addition to a Glenallachie single malt would be also blended Scotch Macnair and White Heather in the portfolio halten.Die three founders are in the Scottish whiskey industry veterans. Billy Walker was previously Master Distiller of the distilleries and Benriach Glendronach and Graham Stevenson Managing Director of Inver House Distillers and Trisha Savage. For the preparation of the Glenallachie as an independent brand of whiskey is responsible since January 2018 Richard Beattie. Richard Beattie as Director of Distilling in Mossburn Distillers Ltd. already collected on Skye experience and has worked in the meantime even in Akashi distillery in Japan. It started his career 30 years ago as distillery manager at The Speyside Scotch Malt Whiskey Distillery.Nahezu 100% of the production from the Glenallachie distillery go into the blending. The single malt from Glenallachie is yet hard to find. The 12 year old Glenallachie is the heart of the new series of Glenallachie. It matured in former sherry casks (Pedro Ximenénz and Oloroso) and in new, unused oak barrels. The single malt has a considerable finesse, with an aromatic and fine texture and an appealing botanical freshness. Despite its lightness it is amazing round.
