The Nikka Pure Malt Black from the “Nikka Pure Malt Series” is lush, sweet and shows a lot of strength and depth on the palate. It is more solid than the Red Malt Nikka, with an extra dose of smokiness. Nikka, Japan’s second largest distillery company, was founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru. Nikka is now part of brewer Asahi and in addition to two malt distilleries in Yoichi and Miyagikyo also distilleries for grain whiskey. The Nikka Pure Malt Black is one of a series of Nikka malts and consists mainly of malt from the Yoichi distillery. It is distinguished by a lot of peat, as well as a richer and stronger flavor. Nikka Pure Malt Black Japanese Blended Malt Whisky is a blended malt whisky. Rated an average of 4.0 out of 5 by 14 reviewers and available from Master of Malt for only £44.99, with reviews like that this is one blended malt whisky you can’t afford to miss
