Penderyn, the only whiskey distillery in Wales, was awarded in 2008 by the leading American Whiskey Magazine Malt Advoate a prize as “Microdistillery Whiskey of the Year.” The small company produces only one barrel per day. After laborious start, it is now known worldwide for exquisite whiskeys. It was Prince Charles, who officially opened the distillery in June of 2008. Penderyn aged in bourbon barrels, mainly from Buffalo Trace and Evan Williams. Later It receives his finish in Madeira or sherry wood. The label lists no age.
