With the Port Charlotte MRC: 01 Scottish distillery Bruichladdich is once again succeeded in creating a masterpiece. This single malt whiskey matures each half on fresh American whiskey barrels and the other half on the former wine barrels from France. The two separated and masterfully mature whiskies are artfully married to each other. After the wedding, the whiskey will be granted a further aging period of one year French oak barrels. On the bottle an unusually intense and powerful single malt is filled at the end. The Port Charlotte MRC 01 comes at cask strength to the bottle and sits with an alcohol content of 59.2% vol an exclamation point. Port Charlotte 2010 MRC:01 is a 7 year old single malt whisky (located in the Islay region). Rated an average of 4.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers and available from Amazon for only £86.51, falling slightly short of liquid gold but this in a solid everyday single malt whisky.
